Different size, same great idea. The Grit Guard® Flex-Fit is a slightly smaller Grit Guard® insert that was developed to fit buckets from auto parts stores like Advanced Auto Parts, NAPA, and Pep Boys. Customers wanted a Grit Guard® that fit nicely inside of auto part store buckets, so we found a solution.
The Flex-Fit design has four self-adjusting tabs and a smaller 10″ diameter to provide a secure fit in the bottom of 3.5 – 5 gallon buckets found at major retail stores. Unlike our buckets, auto part store buckets taper towards the bottom, making the original Grit Guard® insert too big to reach the bottom. We knew we needed to help those people who already purchased these tapered buckets and those who are going to auto parts stores to begin scratch-free detailing!
Grit Guard® is not a gimmick, it’s common sense…when your mitt is in the water, the fibers are fluffed up. When you rub your mitt against Grit Guard® in the water, the fluffed up fibers allow the Grit Guard® to extract the dirt, grit and grime. Once dirt settles in the bottom of the bucket, the Grit Guard® keeps it there by separating the wash water into four quadrants, so the water cannot be disturbed. Also works amazingly well on tile grouting!
